If you haven't heard by now, the Amazon is on fire. This isn't a wildfire, like the types you see in Spain or California during dry seasons, these fires are man made and the last step in deforestation of the area. Although the rain forest can have dry spells, they are nothing like the devastation that these man made fires are causing.
